The 5th National Canoeing of Genealogists - Pilica 2008

Given the sympathy to Genpol and its time we came up with idea of summer meetings on the water. Five years ago there was organized The 1st National Canoeing of genealogists, summer canoeing was continued for the next years. Participation in them took people from Genpol, Members of Genealogical Associations and other sympathizers of our hobby. We were sailing on the Wda, Rospuda, Brda and Czarna Hańcza.

In recent time there is more and more meetings of genealogists but these in the bosom of nature are always unique. It is worth mentioning here about Genealogical Picnic in Borsk from the previous year.
In this year next Picnic will be taken place near Kościerzyna and on the days 22-25 of May Staszek Pieniążek will be organising meeting in Bory Tucholskie. After it we can meet at kayaks at Pilca river this time.

We warmly invite all people for annual National Canoeing of Genealogists 2-6 July 2008.

We meet at „Przystań” resort in Tomaszów Mazowiecki. We leave there our cars and we are spending there the first evening where is the supper, bonfire and time for talking.

In case of bad weather condition (of course organizators do not expect it ;) there is a place to find the shelter.

1st day of canoeing
Tomaszów - Inowłódz 20 km (possibiility of accomodation in Zakościele place or ZHP place on Fryszerka) - social and bar

It is worth seeing ruins of Kazimierz's castle and Roman St. Idzi Church from 1086y.

2nd day of canoeing
Inowłódz - Domaniewice 22 km (possibility of staying in Motel or in the tent) - social and bar

3rd day of canoeing
Domaniewice - Tomczyce 20 km. During caneoing we are passing Łęgonice Duże and  Małe - villages on the both sides of the river with historic wooden churches. InTomczyce there is possibility to sleep in tent or going back to Ośrodek Przystań w Tomaszowie – social

4th day of canoeing
Tomczyce - Wyśmierzyce 8 km lub Smardzewice - Tomaszów 7 km (from dam to Przystan in Tomaszow) - social and bar

It is possible to book accommodation at the following costs:
4 bed room 120 per night
8 bed cottage $ 160
