I am researching my husband's Polish ancestors. They immigrated in the 1800s to Milwaukee, WI.
Michael Guzinski married Rozalia Bluma in 1859 in the Parish of Brusy. They had several children:
1. Joseph, b. 1860, Parish of Brusy
2. Johann, b. 1862, Parish of Brusy
3. Peter, b. 1863, Parish of Brusy [this is my husband's 3rd great-grandfather]
4. Franz, b. 1865, Parish of Brusy
5. Marianna, b. 1867, Parish of Brusy
6. Paulina, b. 1869, Parish of Brusy
7. Paul, b. 1873, Parish of Brusy
8. Francisca, b. 1875, Parish of Brusy
9. Johann, b. 1877, Parish Brusy [second child may have died before 1877]
10. Theodor, b. 1879, Wielkie-Chelmy USC
Rozalia Bluma was born in Brusy Parish in 1835 to Adalbertus/Albert Bluma and Marianna Paczynska/Puczenska.
I am not sure who Michael's parents are. I believe they may be Vincent Guzinski and Barbara Lewicka/Sewietzka. Vincent and Barbara were married in 1832 in Lignowy Szacheckie. They had several children, but I am not sure if they are the correct parents for Michael. Their children were born in Lignowy Szlacheckie and Dzierno.
Does anyone know these families? Any suggestions for how I can confirm the parentage of Michael Guzinski? How likely is it that families from different parishes intermarried, when the parishes have distance between each other?
I am researching from the United States, so I am relying on the Internet for research and contacting archives for information. I also do not speak or write Polish.
