I am researching my great-great-great-grandparents.
This is what I know so far:
Carl Stieber (born about 1818) has children:
Julius Stieber:
Birth 07 May 1845 in Gra, Dolnoslaskie, Poland
Death 10 Mar 1904 in Detroit, Wayne, New York, United States
married Matilda Meyers (1843 – 1918) in 1870
Albert Stieber
Birth 1838 in Prussia, Poland
Death 1 Jul 1886 in Detroit, Wayne, Michigan, United States
married Magdalena Glosa (1837 – 1917)
A family tree supplied by the George Stieber family,
showed Albert as the family patriarch who came to America in 1864. Since Albert and Julius Lived together in
Detroit, Michigan, I strongly suspect that these two were brothers, along with Anton, Frank, Daniel, and Joseph.
The Albert Stieber family tree has him being born in Nowe(nove )Miasto, a village nnw of Warsaw, just north ofPlonsk, and east of Dobrin and Gora.
Thanks to this forum I found the marriage entry for Albert and Magdalene.
Ideally, I'd like to find out:
- Who were the parents of Albert and Julius (so that I can find other siblings)
- A baptism certificate for them
- Parents of Magdalene Glosa
If I can determine the brothers of Julius and Albert, I can link up with other family trees.
I am not looking for anyone to do my work, but if you have any pointers, or if you can help push me in the right direction, it would be wonderful.
Their descendants came to Detroit and founded the Polish Daily News.
